SECTION II
NON-PRIOR SERVICE ENLISTMENT BONUS - NPSEB

Eligibility

  • 4x4, 6x2 or 8x0 term of service.
  • AFQT 50 or more.
  • Tier I education level.
  • E-4 and below.
  • 6-year $20K option - NPS Top 10 MOS List and Bonus Tier Level 1.
  • 6-year $15K/12.5K/10K/7.5K option - Bonus Tier Level 2,3,4,5.
  • 4-year $12.5K/10K/7.5K option - Bonus Tier Level 3,4,5.
  • Position vacancies IAW SRIP Encl 4 Para 18.
  • 6-year option - Straight Thru Ticket, STO, CASP are eligible.
  • 4-year option - Straight Thru Ticket, CASP are eligible.
  • Approved waivers are eligible. Exception - DAT waivers not eligible as per details below.
  • Individuals separated from a military service as a DEP discharge or discharged from the ARNG RFP may be eligible for this incentive.

Non-Eligible

  • Tier II/III education level.
  • 09S OCS.
  • 09W WOCS.
  • 09R SMP.
  • 4-year option - STO are not eligible.
  • GNPS. This includes applicants who were discharged from a "conditional" enlistment because of a positive drug and alcohol test (DAT) IAW NGR 600-7 Section II Terms.
  • RFP - may be eligible upon return to MEPS for active contract.
  • Excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy IAW NGR 600-7 Para 1-9.
  • Derivative UIC IAW NGR 600-7 Para 1-9.
  • Manually-created rear element vacancy NGR 600-7 Para 1-29.

Notes

  • 6-year 20K option may not receive Off Peak bonus due to $20,000 incentive max cap.
  • NPS applicants may qualify for a total of two incentives in any combination (as applicable). Applicant must meet eligibility for each incentive type. The Off Peak bonus combined with the NPSEB is one incentive.
  • Individuals who do not pass the OPAT for the MOS enlisted will have the incentive terminated.
  • A NPS recipient failing to ship within 365 days of his or her enlistment date will have the incentive terminated.
  • A NPS recipient failing to become DMOSQ within the required period will have the incentive terminated.
  • A Soldier voluntarily changing his or her MOS during the contractual obligation will have the incentive terminated, unless assigned as a 09R, 09S or 09W.

Incentive Amount

  • 4-year: $7,500 / $10,000 / $12,500 - installments 50/50
  • 6-year: $7,500 / $10,000 / $12,500 / $15,000 / $20,000 - installments 50/25/25

SECTION III
NON-PRIOR SERVICE OFF PEAK - OP

  • RECSTA 01 October 2019 - 30 April 2020 with Straight Through training option.

  • Approved waivers are eligible. Exception - DAT waivers not eligible as per details below.

Non-Eligible

  • Tier II/III education level.
  • STO.
  • CASP.
  • 09S OCS. IAW NGB 600-7-1-R-E.
  • 09R SMP. IAW NGB 600-7-1-R-E.
  • RFP - may be eligible upon return to MEPS for active contract.
  • GNPS. This includes applicants who were discharged from a "conditional" enlistment because of a positive drug and alcohol test (DAT) IAW NGR 600-7 Section II Terms.
  • Excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy IAW NGR 600-7 Para 1-9. Exception: Urgent and Cyber units.
  • Derivative UIC IAW NGR 600-7 Para 1-9.
  • Manually-created rear element vacancy NGR 600-7 Para 1-29.

Notes

  • OP is not restricted to the States Top 10 MOS List.
  • May be offered independently or in combination with NPS MGIB-SR Kicker or NPS SLRP if AFQT is 50+. May be received in conjunction with the NPSEB, but cannot exceed $20,000 when combined. The Off Peak bonus combined with the NPSEB is one incentive. NPS applicants may contract for a maximum of two incentives as eligible.
  • Lump sum payment.
  • Failure to ship during eligible period outlined will result in termination of the OP bonus.

SECTION IV
PRIOR SERVICE ENLISTMENT BONUS - PSEB

Eligibility

  • Former enlisted member of an armed force who has no remaining service obligation.
  • Three or six year term of service.
  • E-7 and below. Grade commensurate with position or position no greater than one grade above Soldier current grade.
  • Less than 16 years TIS at time of enlistment.
  • DMOSQ - MOS conversions from other services must be approved by authorizing proponent prior to enlistment.
    • 3 year enlistment.
    • 6 year enlistment.
  • Non-DMOSQ.
    • 6 year enlistment (must complete training in 24 months).
  • Position vacancies IAW SRIP Encl 4 Para 18.
  • All periods of service must be Honorable (Exception: Completed IADT with an uncharacterized discharge).
  • Soldiers enlisting for Special Forces must be MOSQ at time of enlistment to qualify for an incentive.
  • Applicants applying for Urgent MTOE units or Special Forces, Cyber or Medical TDA units will be processed under tier level guidance addressed in SRIP Encl 7 & 8.

Non-Eligible

  • General Under Honorable discharge for any period of service.
  • Previously received PSEB.
  • Within 365 days of discharge from ARNG and was fully eligible to reenlist/extend IAW Encl 3 Para 2d.
  • Soldiers in an active Selected Reserve status while transferring to the ARNG on a DD Form 368 are not eligible to contract for an incentive IAW AR 601-210 Para 10-5b(4). Refer to a SRIP Encl 4 Para 24.
  • Separated from active service or being released from active service for the purpose of enlistment in a reserve component.
  • Discharged or released from active duty or military service in an active status based on a determination of misconduct, substandard duty performance, or moral or professional dereliction IAW Encl 3 Para 2e.
  • Excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy IAW NGR 600-7 Para 1-9.
  • Derivative UIC IAW NGR 600-7 Para 1-9
  • Manually-created rear element vacancy NGR 600-7 Para 1-29.

  • Must process at MEPS.
  • If BCT is required, PSEB will be terminated if the Soldier does not graduate BCT within 12 months from the date of enlistment.
  • Soldiers who are Non-DMOSQ must complete training within 24 months of Date of Enlistment.

STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENT FOR NON-PRIOR SERVICE (09S EXCLUDED)

Applicants may select the SLRP incentive even though they have no outstanding loan(s) when signing the contractual agreement. Refer to the Department of Education National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) website at nslds.ed.gov/npas.
  • PLUS Loans are eligible when the applicant is responsible for repayment of the loan.
  • Soldiers may add additional loans during their contractual agreement.

Specific Eligibility

  • Bonus Tier 1 thru 6.
  • 6x2 or 8x0 term of service.
  • AFQT 50 or more.
  • Tier I education level.
  • E-4 and below.
  • Position vacancies IAW SRIP Encl 4 Para 18.
  • Split Ops, CASP, and all approved waivers are eligible.

  • Copy of promissory note and disbursement sheet(s) for any eligible loan(s) not listed on the NSLDS documentation.
  • GIMS Pre-Approval Memo to MEPS GC.
  • Individuals without a loan(s) at the time of being offered the SLRP are not required to have the pre-approval memo but shall have the loan verified for capability of repayment as soon as identified.

  • NPS applicants may qualify for a total of two incentives in any combination (as applicable). Applicant must meet eligibility for each incentive type.
  • The portion or amount of a loan that may be repaid is 15% or $500, whichever is greater, for each year of satisfactory service, plus the amount of any interest that may accrue during the current year.
  • An enlisted Soldier who enters a commissioning program and/or accepts an appointment or commission as an Officer or Warrant Officer in a SELRES (any AOC/MOS) may continue to receive SLRP payments as stipulated in their original contract so long as they remain otherwise qualified.
  • Soldiers reenlisting/extending under a previously executed SLRP contract must reenlist/extend for 6 years within the authorized extension window without a break in service from the original SLRP contract start date. 09S applicants are not eligible.
  • All payments are made to the lending institution and not to the Soldier.

Incentive Amount

  • Maximum cap amount of $50,000

STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENT FOR 09S (NPS & PS)

Applicants may select the SLRP incentive even though they have no outstanding loan(s) when signing the contractual agreement. Refer to the Department of Education National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) website at nslds.ed.gov/npas.
  • PLUS Loans are eligible when the applicant is responsible for repayment of the loan.
  • Soldiers may add additional loans during their contractual agreement. Note: 09S applicants will likely have only one enlistment contract prior to commission. Therefore consider the 8x0 option to maximize the amount of time to receive the annual payments.

Specific Eligibility

  • Bonus Tier 1 thru 6.
  • Minimum 6 year term of service.
  • Tier I education level.
  • AFQT 50 or more.
  • Must enlist into a manually created 09S vacancy and receive a 09S SLRP override in REQUEST prior to the training reservation being pulled. The MEPS GC must request an override from the ROC prior to completing the reservation in order to allow REQUEST to offer 09S SLRP.
  • Minimum of 90 semester hours listed on official transcripts or have a bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Approved admin, moral, and medical waivers are eligible.
  • IAW SRIP Encl 4 Para 24, individuals assigned to the IRR and require a DD Form 368 for enlistment with ARNG may be eligible for an incentive if meeting all incentive eligibility criteria.

  • All periods of service must be Honorable (Exception: Completed IADT with an uncharacterized discharge).
  • IAW SRIP Encl 4 Para 24, individuals assigned to the IRR and require a DD Form 368 for enlistment with ARNG may be eligible for an incentive if meeting all incentive eligibility criteria.

Non-Eligible

  • General Under Honorable discharge for any period of service.
  • Soldiers in an active Selected Reserve status while transferring to the ARNG on a DD Form 368 are not eligible to contract for an incentive IAW AR 601-210 Para 10-5b(4).   • Must be eligible to receive Chapter 1606 or Chapter 30 benefits.

Non-Eligible

  • Tier II/III education level.
  • GNPS. This includes applicants who were discharged from a "conditional" enlistment because of a positive drug and alcohol test (DAT) IAW NGR 600-7 Section II Terms.
  • RFP - may be eligible upon return to MEPS for active contract.
  • 09R, 09S, 09W (Soldiers in a commissioning program may contract for a Kicker upon eligibility).
  • Excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy IAW NGR 600-7 Para 1-9.
  • Derivative UIC IAW NGR 600-7 Para 1-9.
  • Manually-created rear element vacancy NGR 600-7 Para 1-29.

  • Critical Skill/Critical UIC vacancy (Tier 1-7).
  • Position vacancies IAW SRIP Encl 4 Para 18.
  • Must be eligible to receive Chapter 1606 or Chapter 30 benefits.
  • All periods of service must be Honorable (Exception: Completed IADT with an uncharacterized discharge).
  • Meet the requirements to be awarded the MOS at the time of enlistment if enlisting from a branch of service other than the Army for a DMOSQ CS position.
  • IAW SRIP Encl 4 Para 24, individuals assigned to the IRR and require a DD Form 368 for enlistment with ARNG may be eligible for an incentive if meeting all incentive eligibility criteria.

Non-Eligible

  • General under Honorable discharge for any period of service.
  • Excess, over-strength, or manually-loaded vacancy IAW NGR 600-7 Para 1-9.
  • Derivative UIC IAW NGR 600-7 Para 1-9.
  • Manually-created rear element vacancy NGR 600-7 Para 1-29.
  • Within 365 days of discharge from ARNG and was fully eligible to reenlist/extend IAW Encl 3 Para 2d.
  • Must not have previously established eligibility for a Kicker in any component.
  • Discharged or released from active duty or military service in an active status based on a determination of misconduct, substandard duty performance, or moral or professional dereliction IAW Encl 3 Para 2e.
  • Soldiers in an active Selected Reserve status while transferring to the ARNG on a DD Form 368 are not eligible to contract for an incentive. Note: Service Members may be able to retain a Kicker incentive IAW AR 601-210 Para 10-5b and SRIP Encl 4 Para 24.
